Where else does the curriculum change each year (to respond to a constantly changing world)? How many colleges give students the freedom and responsibility to create their own academic pathways, to invent areas of study, to follow their passion for learning wherever it leads?

Center for Creative & Applied Media

In the fall of 2009, we look forward to opening the new Center for Creative & Applied Media (CCAM). As the centerpiece of the Evergreen’s effort to enhance teaching and learning through the use of new media, CCAM holds great promise for our community.

ccam control room plan Already under construction, the 10,000-square-foot facility will provide up-to-the-minute digital media access to students, faculty and administrators. It will house space for production, teleconferencing, broadcasting, and preservation of archival media material.

Plans call for the center to be fully equipped with a soundstage, multi-camera high-definition video studio, cable and Internet broadcasting facility, workshop space, surround-audio recording and mixing suite, and experimental-effects lab. This is where we need your support. Funds are needed to purchase the tools and technologies necessary to educate the next generation of storytellers, artists, activists, scholars and citizens.

Once CCAM is dedicated and the equipment starts rolling, Evergreen students will have at their fingertips the technological edge necessary to unlock the power of media to change the world.

Library

The Daniel J. Evans Library is a vital center of teaching, learning and community. It provides instruction in the use of materials and media equipment, houses unique collections and continually seeks new and innovative ways to provide information to meet the ever-changing research and academic needs of the entire community.
